Welcome to English class! Let's get to know each other. I'm Mrs. B, and this is my 10th year of teaching. Obviously, teaching is a second career for me. I am a bit of a late bloomer, as I didn't even attend college until I was in my forties--a daunting but worthwhile undertaking. I graduated from Kutztown University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education--English. In August of that year, I was hired here at Conrad Weiser to cover a long-term leave of absence, and I've been here ever since then. I completed my Master's Degree in Education through Wilkes University in August 2010.
When I'm not doing school-related work, my hobbies include cooking, walking, reading, gardening, shopping, eating, decorating, and spending time with my family. I have a 30-year-old son, a 34-year-old step-daughter, and two step-grandsons: one 5 years old and the other 3 years old. Many weekends, my husband and I retreat to our cabin along Jack's Creek in Mifflin County--about 2 hours away.
Here are just some of my favorite things:
-- the smell (and taste) of freshly-brewed coffee
-- the sound of the ocean
-- dark chocolate!!!
-- shoes -- lots of them
-- holding a newborn baby
-- learning new things
-- vegetables
-- dancing (well, that's what I call it)
